Slowly infused flowers and botanicals
Glow combines locally grown organic rose and chamomile flowers with wild-foraged yarrow flowers, fireweed, elderflowers and Douglas fir tips.
We select locally abundant botanicals using knowledge from herbal practice, ethnobotany and modern research. Each blend is composed for everyday skincare, considering the plants’ properties, their suitability for oil extraction, and the natural aroma they create together.
The plants steep directly in the moisturizing oils for several weeks, allowing oil-soluble constituents and natural aromatic compounds to pass into the blend before filtering. Glow pairs this infusion with oils selected to soften rough-feeling skin and provide lighter moisture.
With 0.5% purified bakuchiol
Bakuchiol is a naturally occurring compound found in Psoralea corylifolia (bakuchi), a plant with a long history of use in Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine.
Purified bakuchiol has been studied for improvements in the appearance of wrinkles and uneven pigmentation. In a comparative clinical trial, participants using a bakuchiol cream reported less scaling and stinging than those using a retinol cream.
This research informs our inclusion of 0.5% purified bakuchiol alongside Glow’s moisturizing oils and whole-plant infusion.

In a randomized, double-blind, 12-week study of 44 participants, a cream containing 0.5% bakuchiol used twice daily and a cream containing 0.5% retinol used once daily both reduced measured wrinkle surface area and hyperpigmentation. Participants using retinol reported more scaling and stinging.
The study is one reason purified bakuchiol has attracted interest as a botanical alternative to retinol in cosmetic skincare.

How to use
How to use
After cleansing, mist your face and neck with a hydrosol or leave your skin slightly damp with water.
Apply the serum to damp skin, gently pressing it into your face and neck. Adjust the amount to your skin’s needs and preferred feel.
Use morning or evening. If using sunscreen, apply it after the serum.
Pair with a hydrosol: Hydrosols hydrate the skin, while the serum softens it and helps retain moisture. Apply the serum while your skin is still damp.

Sourcing & making
We forage the wild botanicals ourselves and source the organically grown flowers locally.
Infusion, filtering, blending and bottling take place in small batches at our Vashon Island studio. Purified bakuchiol and Vitamin E are blended into the filtered oil before bottling.
Glow is a water-free facial oil with no added fragrance, essential oils, colorants or preservatives.
